Mina Wu

Mina Wu (Taipei, Taiwan, 1976 - Tokyo, Japan, 2009) came to Holland in 2000 to study and work as a jewellery, product and textile designer. She first graduated in jewellery design at Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam (2004) and after obtained an IM Masters at Design Academy Eindhoven. Both Droog and chp…? collected her works.
  
Her works have been traveling with exhibitions inside the Netherlands and internationally. For Droog: 'Go Slow', Tokyo (2004), Salone del Mobile presentations 'Value for Money' (2005) and 'Garden of Delight' (2006), Sony Vaio 5th Anniversary, Hong Kong, Ambiente in Frankfurt. Talente in Munich (2005); touring exhibition ‘Languages’ (2005), ‘g.e.b.o.r.d.u.u.r.d’ Textile Museum Tilburg (2006); ‘The Red Dress’ project (2006); ‘Love Stamp’ for Tokyo Design Week; ‘Chi ha paura…?’ exhibition
Mina was nominated for Designer of the Year 2007 at the Design Museum London.

In 2007 Mina, together with M3H architects, worked on an art project for Dutch housing cooperation Ymere. For residential area Het Plateel in Purmerend she designed Jugenstil inspired decorations, that she intended to look like free hand drawings on the walls. Mina never got to see the realization of what she had designed - she died before the project was finalized, making it her last work.
